FEW Baltic II

The offshore windfarm project F.E.W. Baltic II is located in the Polish part of the Baltic sea on an area of 41 km² at water depths of 30-50 meters and a distance of around 50 km to shore. It is developed by a mixed team of experts from Poland and Germany.

Once constructed F.E.W. Baltic II will deliver 350 MW and supply 350,000 households with sustainable renewable energy. Site investigations have been successfully finalized. Both the geophysical and the geotechnical survey have been executed by local Polish contractors.

F.E.W. Baltic II is qualified for the first phase of offshore wind projects in Poland and is thus likely to be one of the first projects to go into the construction and subsequent operation phases.

The FEW Baltic II project is part of the continued expansion of our renewables portfolio in Poland, one of our core markets in Europe. We have already gained considerable experience and operate about a dozen onshore wind farms here with a total capacity of approximately 390 MW. And we aim to develop and build several Offshore Projects until the end of the decade.

Poland awards Contract for Difference to RWE’s F.E.W.Baltic II offshore wind farm (7th of April 2021)
RWE has moved a major step closer to the realization of its first offshore wind farm in Poland: The Polish Energy Regulatory Office has awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) to the F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind project.

1st Virtual Local Content Kick Off
On 15th of December , 2020, we have successfully kicked off our virtual open dialogue with the Polish supply chain. 240 polish and international suppliers took part in our 1st virtual approach to the Polish supply market. This event will be followed by further engagement with the polish supply chain in the near future.

Grid Connection Agreement for F.E.W.Baltic II signed with Polish TSO PSE S.A. (December 2020)
We are happy to report that we have signed the Grid Connection Agreement for our 350 MW FEW Baltic II Offshore Wind Farm project. We would like to thank PSE for the trustful and effective negotiations which even took place during the Covid pandemia.
